Emerald asks if she has a picture of Sunshine anywhere.
 
Joyride shrugs and says, “Not on me. If you really want to see I can show you when we get back to Whiterwater.”
 
Not being able to think of much else to say, Emerald thanks Joyride for letting him pull her aside, and also thanks her for being honest. She gives a nod, and then begins to walk away. At the same time, Ruby walks up from the staircase, and seeing Emerald walks over to him.
 
“What was that about?” Ruby says, looking back at Joyride as she goes below deck.
 
Emerald says it was nothing, and then asks her if she wants to play a game of some kind, to which she agrees. Emerald isn’t sure why he wants to play a game, but somehow that talk with Joyride makes him feel like he may be missing out on life a little by chasing after revenge, even if he has many good reasons to do it.
 
The pair ask around for any games, and the Captain lends them a deck of cards, and the foals begin to play Go Fish.
 
While he plays Emerald thinks on what he may want to become in the future. A teacher does sound pretty fun. A scholar would be nice… Really anything where he can read lot’s of books would be something Emerald would want to do.
