“Oh, all sorts of stuff. Drink, gamble… Tell tales. Sometimes the boys get out their instruments and everyone has a little dance. The ones that know how may even write a little. You get used to it.” Bo says, nodding.
Emerald asks what Joyride was like back then, and about Sunshine Sea.
“Hmm… She was quite a bit warmer. Not that she was mean or anything, but she feels a bit more distant now.” Bo says.
Emerald waits for him to talk about the other half of his question, and when he doesn’t he asks it again.
“Sunshine was… She was great. The greatest mare you could ever meet.” Bo says, staring off into the distance.
The awkward silence returns. Wanting to break it, Emerald ducks under his front legs and grabs the wheel of the ship. He asks if he can steer it, and asks how it works.
Bo begins to talk about how the wheel is essentially connected by a chain to the rudder, but Emerald finds himself a bit distracted. Bo is pushing himself closer to Emerald, and occasionally brushing his hoof, or his hair. Emerald can feel him all around, and it makes him blush.
“You seem… A bit distracted Emerald. Is everything… Okay?” Bo says, giving him a warm smile.
