Emerald attempts to sneak behind the ponies following Hope, however he can’t move as quietly as he wants to as the ponies and Hope herself are moving rather quickly.
 
Emerald gets close enough to the ponies tailing Hope to see their cutie marks. They appear to be a small knife and what appears to be a cape, or maybe a mantle? Maybe they are still soldiers?
 
Emerald follows for hours and it starts to get dark. Emerald rounds the corner where he started the adventure and after traveling for another hour or two the ponies suddenly hide on the side of the road. Emerald darts into some bushes in response. The ponies seem to be looking ahead.Perhaps Hope has stopped taken up camp?
