Meet Crystal Spear! Daughter to Princess(Queen) Cadence and Shining Armor~ She’s the middle child and has managed to develop quite an attitude. As a filly she was very feminine, despite her namesake. Shining Armor got the chance to name her all on his own after winning a bet against his wife. Luckily, it turned out in her favor. She simply oozed defiance, which gave her a nickname among the guards as ‘The Skunk’, both for the stinky attitude and her mane coloration. However, in realizing she couldn’t really imitate her mother’s love magic, she realized being a princess to the Crystal Empire was just not something she was cut out for. She was, however, cut out for yelling at others and making them suffer physically. So, she studied under her father, and became a member and eventually captain for the Crystal Guard.
 
Fun Facts:  
Despite every pony in the Crystal Empire knowing the horrors of Crystal Spear, Shining Armor just doesn’t see it and knows her only as his little princess  
Crystal has a personal issue with her younger brother, feeling him to be too much of a baby  
Despite their similarities, Crystal doesn’t get along with her cousin, Knight Shine. They differ in their methods in training and argue constantly. Shining tries often to get them together since he loves them both so much.  
Crystal does get along very well with Cool Current when she visits Ponyville with her family  
Crystal feels she needs to do everything in her power to protect her mother and reveres her greatly, more so for the fact that has abilities that Crystal can’t even hope to have.
