“Help!” Emerald says through his moans, “A witch is controlling Giles!”
 
A few things happen at once. Emerald disentangles himself from Giles, the soldier turns back and calls orders to something Emerald can’t see, and there is an explosion of purple from Stargazer.
 
Then the Bat Creature rears up out of the fog, the soldier says, “Run, quickly child!” and Emerald attempts to do so before turning back and worrying about Giles. Luckily he is following behind him, still looking dazed, and when he gets close he attempts to mount Emerald again.
 
Emerald just steps out of his way, and the brown pony simply walks slightly forward and tries again. Well it’s not ideal, but at least he is following.
 
Emerald runs out the door, Giles trotting purposefully after him and the transformed Stargazer reaching the door and letting out a loud roar. Outside the barn are a multitude of soldiers, all armed and standing at the ready.
 
“Out of here, children! Quick, to the main house!”
 
Praline and Emerald don’t need to be told again, and leave the battle behind. As they rush to the house, Emerald stops short, causing Praline to run just slightly ahead and say, “W-what’s wrong?”
 
There are soldiers standing guard outside the house. Emerald didn’t realize it until now but the soldiers are wearing very familiar looking armor.
