I’m not sure if there has been a Hyena in the MLP form before. I did the best I could. I hope you all like her anyway!
 
A gift from BlueButterFlyArt1. A Hyena! A very small Hyena to be exact. Isn’t she adorable?
 
 
Her info–
 
Her name is Amara, which means “Elegance” in an African language that Blerf cant remember :iconlazycryplz:  
As a Young baby Hyena, she is just about over a foot, but growing!  
Rather shy, but acts big and tough to play her natural role as a carnivore, but always ends up looking cute rather than menacing.  
Easily scarred and skiddish in most situations.  
Feeds off of birds instead of Antelopes (as others of her kind would feed off of larger animals as such).  
She loves to play with a bone that she found on the ground one day. Likes to chew it sometimes.  
Obi and others use it to play fetch with her on occasions.
 
 
Her backstory—
 
Separated from her pack, she was found by Obi the elephant after wondering for who knows how long. Obi decided it would be best to take her under his care along with his friends and figured it would be much safer for her to at least be with someone who will protect her from danger.  
Even with the thought that she is a carnivore and would most definitely eat animals like him and his friends when shes bigger, she is now considered a member of the herd.  
Amara doesn’t remember anything about her pack only that she was part of it and longs to find it again.  
She tries to take every chance she can get to meet a fellow carnivore, (but continuously fails to do so.)

The Spotted Hyena is the largest Hyena species.  
The social system is female-dominated and based on the clan, which varies from 5 or fewer adults and young in deserts to 50 or more in prey-rich Savannah.  
Then clan occupies a communal den, uses communal latrines, and jointly defends it’s territory of 15 to-390 square miles. (40-1000 Km), delineated by calls, scent marking and boundary patrols.  
The spotted Hyena makes many sounds, including whoops, to rally it’s group or locate cubs and the famous Hyena “laugh”, to signify submission to a senior clan member.  
The Spotted Hyena is a powerful hunter. Several clan members may form a pack to bring down large prey such as an adult Zebra or Wildebeest.  
When hunting alone, it catches Hares, ground birds and fish in shallows and swamps. It gorges on food and is able to consume up to one third of it’s body weight in one meal.  
The Spotted Hyena mother is solely responsible for cub rearing; the male plays no part.The average litter is 2, born after 100 days’ gestation and weaned at 14-18 months, when nearly full grown. The dominant cub controls access to the mother when suckling, and in times of milk shortage, may kill its sister or brother to improve its own chance of survival.
