Sooooooo I made a second Sparity baby. This time a boy, who takes more after his mother. Kind of. Hes definitely more pony-like than his sister.
 
I ended up having just this really sad headcannon for them? Kind of? See, Malachite is a Mamas boy because hes more similar to her in the fact that he looks more pony-like. He sticks around her and takes care of himself much more than his sister, whos Daddys little girl. Malachite is of course jealous of this fact. Malachite is a little selfish, to say the least, and wants the full attention of both his parents at all times.
 
Topaz, his sister, is more dragon like and because of that, has a hard time fitting in with ponies. She doesnt feel pretty and doesnt see a point in keeping up with herself if shes never going to be pretty as she is. This is a disappointment for Rarity because she always wanted a little girl to dress up and be girly with, to emulate her. Topaz takes after Spike, with her claws that are good for digging and her oddly long dragon tongue. She likes to be dirty and rough and tumble. While Rarity still loves her daughter, shes just internally disappointed she didnt get her perfect little girl.
 
Malachite realizes this as he grows up and knows no matter how much he can try to be perfect in his mothers eyes, hell never be her little girl.
