Spike winced as the light from the sun crept into the cave shining on his eyelids. How late did the group stay up? He remembered a wrestling match and pie, but it was a bit of a blur to him. He did remember having a good time and passing out on the floor of Barius cave. Did dragons really just sleep wherever? After the harrowing adventure he and the guys went through, Spike thought it was pure exhaustion that had him sleeping like a rock.
He looked around to find Barius sleeping as well on his elevated rock bed. While not as comfortable as the bed Spike had, it was probably cleaner than the floor, where he saw Sharp and Snort passed out as well. Curiously, Magma and Mangle werent there. Spike figured they mustve gotten up to get something to eat; Magma didnt seem like the kind of dragon to lazily sleep into the day, and Mangle was a constant burst of energy. Plus, after that long in a confined cell, Mangle probably wouldnt want to stay still longer than he needed.
Having decided to let the others sleep in, Spike had his own mission to accomplish. He had originally wanted to come on this quest to get some answers, and now he felt he finally had someone who could give them. His new friends gave him some insight to some of the unorthodox culture the dragons had, but now with these older ones, he was bound to get some answers to tougher questions.
He felt a rumble in his gut, and decided that food should probably be a higher priority at the moment. Maybe that purple dragon could make something. What was his name, Jeff? Jet? Jitte? Yeah that was it, Jitte. If he could make a feast, a decent breakfast should be no problem, and if not, maybe some leftovers would be good as well. Maybe Magma and Mangle thought so too? Spike made his way down the corridors of the large mountainous fortress. At least thats what it felt like to him, he felt like he had only seen a fraction of the mountain from the inside, and that it could take him days to fully explore all the nooks and crannies. Large windows were bored into the walls to allow light in, and most of the rooms tended to be located near the edge of the mountain, rather than deeper in. He passed several rooms, which he could only assume belonged to the other residents of the mountain, as he made his way down to the ground floor to the dining room/cavern.
Spike entered the dining room, and noted that the table was empty and that he hadnt run into any other dragons on his way downstairs. It was odd, the mountain could hold a small army of dragons, yet there were only a handful. He wandered into the kitchen area, or at least what he recognized as a kitchen area, and saw Jitte cleaning the counters. It was the first time he really noticed the room. Everything was slightly larger than what he was used to and was all carved directly from the mountain rock, just like the furniture Spike had scene in the castle so far. Jitte took a notice of Spike as he stood in the entry way.
