Moon Dancer is a childhood…acquaintance of Twilight’s. While she was a student studying directly under the Princess of the solar Kingdom, she met many other students while attending courses teaching general studies. One of whom was a dedicated youngster named Moon Dancer. Like Twilight, she was dedicated to her studies and would often have a her nose stuck in a book. She and Twilight would debate subjects trying to prove themselves right almost hourly. It was an odd relationship, but it was one that Moon Dancer silently cherished. She had no idea about Twilight’s relationship with Princess Celestia. This continued on for years as they advanced through Magic School, but those days ultimately had to come to an end. Twilight’s destiny awaited her, and Celestia was sure to see it through. However, Moon Dancer still didn’t know that Twilight was Celestia’s protege. In hopes to show Twilight and her friends how much they meant to her, Moon Dancer set up a small swarray for them. As luck would have it, that was the same day that Twilight needed to leave, so when she went to Twilight’s study to invite her, she was already gone without so much as a good bye.

The Unicorn’s self esteem crumbled. She couldn’t cope with feeling that she wasn’t even worth saying farewells to. Her depression manifested in studying even harder than she was before. She went on to push every one of her acquaintances out, most of which she met through or with Twilight. It only seemed natural to her since they would just leave her behind as well. Moon would go on to graduate as the Valedictorian. She was sure to be the salutatorian, but that was before Twilight left for Celestia knew where. Even after graduating with top marks, she had no drive to continue on her education formally, so she simply did it on her time. After all, she had access to one of the most information rich libraries on the continent, second only to the personal libraries of the Solar and Lunar Princesses.

Her studies of personal enrichment led her to study the path of the White Mage at first. If she was going to live on her own, she should at least keep herself healthy. After a while studying through volumes of White Mage theory and practice, she came to the realization that it may be too limiting to simply be a White Mage, but as much as healing didn’t really appeal to her, she felt compelled to see it though since she had already learned the basics herself. What she found as she immersed herself in alternatives was the Seer. They have a little less depth of healing spells at their disposal, but could be a gatekeeper for elemental damage. Their control over the elements were hardly offensive, only materializing as mid level spells at best, but they could stop elements coming at allies cold in their tracks with little effort. It had control. She liked control.

She went down the path of the Seer to give her something to do as a hobby when not studying for studying’s sake, but she would have never expected it to be put to use. A knock on her door led to a surprising reunion with the now Princess Twilight. All the feelings she bottled up came welling up, which she quickly responded with by slamming her door shut. Unfortunately Twilight needed some assistance with a Changeling lead she was following alone, and could use the help of her old circle of acquaintances to solve it since they knew the city. Even though their lead came up short (and would be a devastating shortcoming down the road) Twilight was able to reconnect with Moon while slowly rebuilding her shattered confidence.

Seer’s Cowl - A cowl made by Moon Dancer herself. She’s not one for clothing, but she’s someone to do things 100%. If she was going to go down the path of the Seer, she may as well dress the part. The stitchings are crude enough to make Rarity’s eyes twitch, but as long as Moon likes it, she’ll (try to) bite her tongue.

Moon Racket - A paddle Moon Dancer received from Twilight. After reconnecting with Moon Dancer, she asked Applejack’s woodworking brother to fashion a racket that suit her friend. Twilight threw a reunion party as an apology to Moon, and this was the gift she gave.
