She suffers a slight hit to her self-esteem, given the fact that she’s plumper than most mares, and not even her sister is kind enough to spare her opinions on the matter. But she can’t help it, food tastes good, and she reads a lot, neither of these activities require much movement. Whenever she does go out it is usually to the beach. She absolutely adores the coast and often finds herself becoming a “pony watcher”, a hobby where she observes the daily lives of others while ships come in and out of port. (Usually Horseshoe Bay near Baltimare or the port near Kelpie Isle). During one of her visits to the seashore she came across a noodle vendor, where she ate what had to be the most delicious noodles ever created under Celestia’s sun.
Afterwards she’d visit the vendor every chance she could until one day she learned, to her dismay, that the pony who owned it suddenly moved away. Something sparked inside of Sandy Shell at that moment, and she vows to open up her own restaurant on the beach.
