Description

As expected, the makers of MLP:FiM did how they always do and popped out a damn good ep. The story was a solid culmination of the events of the previous seasons. Gotta say I liked the musical structure of the ep. It flowed well, and felt a lot like a condensed classic Disney movie. Any sense of the episode being rushed, which I didnt feel it was, I chalk up, once again, to them only gettn 22 minutes to work with. Im legit impressed they managed to fit all that good shit into the ep. Hell, even Derpy showed up a couple times. Bout time too.

Gotta say this felt like it coulda been the series finale, but since we already know the show has another season, all this means is a slightly new direction. Niggas werent wrong when they said this ep would change shit, but not as severely as them doomsayin niggas said. Its like how Lesson Zero changed shit. Now instead of concluding episodes with letters to Celestia (which they pretty much stopped doin anyway), they concludedunno how. Letters to Twi? Twilight just bein there sayin aww shit nigga friendship all up in this bitch!

I will say it was somewhat out of character for Twi to assume Starswirls spell did nothing. It would have been more accurate had she started flippin shit tryin to figure out what she just did. Of course, that would have changed the structure of the episode, maybe for the better, maybe for the worse. Either way, its a minor issue and I wont get bent outta shape about it. It honestly didnt occur to me until I looked for something wrong with the episode.

What I will get bent outta shape tho is bout them spoilers. The emotional impact of Twilight becoming a princess was hugely diminished by the fact that we all knew that shit was comin. One of the best parts about the Season 2 finale was that we had no idea what was goin on beforehand, and Chrysalis showin up was both surprising and interesting. If Hasbro had done like they did with this ep, and made sure every lil niglet an his mama had seen Chrysalis before she showed up onscreen, shit wouldnt have been as memorable. I really hope Hasbro starts controllin that shit a little better in Season 4.
Overall, Im happy with how the episode turned out. Its gonna be a long wait, but Im excited about how the three-parter aspect turns out in Season 4. What Im happiest about tho is that now niggas can stop complaining.

Until Equestria Girls that is
