Description:

Wed like you all to meet Ceres. She was brought to us by a benefactor who chose
to remain anonymous. Long story short he located a foal mill with shady business practices, and paid them a handsome amount for their breeder mare.

Ceres, as we named her, was in her last days of pregnancy and delivered no less than 8 healthy foals (though one of them is wall-eyed but otherwise well). This size of litter is very rare, and mares who deliver that amount of foals at once are known as superbreeders. Unfortunately, such large litters imply that most of the foals will die, as there is never enough colostrum (late pregnancy milk) for all of them. Here at the shelter we have some frozen colostrum for such emergencies, and as for regular milk, Patchy was happy to help.

Welcome to the shelter Ceres!
