Original Description:
Gradual rustling could be heard from Flurry Heart’s chambers, a few moments passed when a silhouette emerged from the piles of cushions that laid rested on the luxurious bed. The soft clatter of the princesses hooves could be heard as they walked on the crystal floor. She slowly approached the slumbering behemoth that laid peacefully at the corner of her room.
Flurry carefully nudged her companion bear as she climbed into his bed with him, stirring him awake as she did so. The ursid turned towards her direction and gave the alicorn a sniff for conformation. Flurry felt his wet nose pressed against her coat and let out a sleepy chuckle.
“Sorry for waking you up… you can go back to sleep now.”
The bear let out a yawn, bearing all of his razor sharp teeth. But that never fazed the alicorn princess one bit. She laid on top of his soft fur and tried to ease herself back into slumber. But the rustling of her feathers could tell anyone that she was far from restful. Gowen let out a groan that sounded like a question.
“I’m just having a bad day today….”
The bear lifted his head and looked around, then he groaned at her again.
“No no… it’s… it’s not day time yet… but I’m just dreading when the servants come by to let me know I need to get up…” at this she covered her face with one of her hooves and let out a stressful sigh.
“I don’t want to deal with anything today Owen…” Gowen laid his head back and let out an audible huff.
“Haa ha… It’s not that… it’s just, I feel myself getting more exhausted day by day to the point sleep or rest doesn’t cure it anymore… Maybe it’s because of the work?” She paused for a moment before thinking of what to say next, “I know everyone… expects me to be their perfect preppy snow princess but sometimes…. I just want to… not be that… like I want to be unimportant… I guess?”
The bear listened to his companion intently, not saying a peep in response. Only his ears flicking back and forth to hear her talk.
“I don’t usually feel like this… maybe it’s because I’m stretching myself thin… aaaggghhh I hate feeling like this… I wonder how mother keeps up with all this pressure… you think it’s because she actually enjoys the responsibility or is she just a workaholic?
Gowen groaned in response to her question, which made Flurry chuckle.
“Yeah probably… Don’t you feel sad like this from time to time Owen?” The bear looked at her and huffed.
“I mean who wouldn’t be upset at that silly…” Flurry rustled her wings and curled her limbs closer to her body, laying her head on top of her bear friends back. “Uggh, I hate when the winter drags on like this… it makes me feel so sluggish. Which is funny because I’m the princess of frost…” Flurry allowed herself to laugh at the irony of her statement, which made Gowen laugh as well.
After a while, she stretched out her limbs that were growing weary and let out a yawn. Finally feeling the sleep tug at her eyelids once more. She settled herself comfortable on Gowen’s bed and closed her eyes.
“Hey Gowen… could you growl if someone tries to wake us up? I need the day off… Thanks buddy I owe you.” The mountain bear didn’t reply at this, since there was no need to as he understood what was asked of him. They both slowly slipped back into slumber, as the snow storm outside began to quiet down.
