I said I would probably never animate G3 ponies because I was so intimidated by that hair and the colored outlines. But it turned out it wasn’t so bad as long as I simplified the hair to a significant degree, and it’s still recognizable. I wasn’t keeping track of how long this took, but I’d guess around 5-6 hours total.
 
Sorry I couldn’t give it a transparent background. Animate wouldn’t get rid of the stage color where the outline ended, and there didn’t seem to be a way to get rid of the anti-aliasing altogether.
