“I have a task for you, Captain Moon Dancer. One that shall hopefully restore our guard to its former glory! But I warn you, it is one that does not come without a heavy risk!”
 
“What is this task, my lady?”
 
Upon Princess Luna’s return, many ponies still somewhat feared the night Princess. So, gathering her small guard, she came up with a way to try and encourage stallions and mares to join her guard. In the end, taking a suggestion from one of her Sergeants, the Lunar Princess asked her loyal Captain, Moon Dancer, if she was willing to do what it would take to help her build the Lunar guard back to its former glory.
 
Moon Dancer was more than happy to oblige, even after finding out just what it was that Princess Luna asked her.
 
so long as her subordinates keep quiet, Moon Dancer was very happy to strip to the buff and pose as a pinup girl for the guard. And it worked, as many mares and stallions signed up to join the Lunar guard, prompting its ranks to overshadow that of the Solar guards, much to Princess Luna’s delight.
 
[Headcanon about bat pony guards, they keep their wings as tightly to their bodies as possible to avoid damage in combat, only unfurling them, like a real bat, to their great size when in need of flight. Hense why in this and my previous pic of Moon, her wings are not visible.]
