As a newborn, Zap was a menace when it came to falling asleep, and would keep her parents up by randomly crying only to stop when they checked on her. Applejack guessed that it was because she was missing them, and couln’t see where they were. So out of desparation for a few hours of uninterrupted sleep, Applejack just Zap in her hat, hoping that the scent would keep her calm. And it worked! Peaceful, blessed sleep…
…until morning, when Applejack tried to take her hat back. Zap did not approve.
