Description

“It’s been a while since my last animation of any sort. Kinda fun trying it out again. This time focusing on the face and some expressions.

I really wasn’t planning on putting as much time in this one than I did. Started out just 5 frames, then it turned into one with about 35 unique frames haha. But I was curious to smoothing out the animation more. I’ve not really added more frames per second that much. It made me notice something I remember from last times.

I need to play with different pacing more. A lot of it just gradually moves at an even rate. So at the end I ended up adding the blinking and some small adjustment here and there to have more abrupt motion, for diversity.

One of the things I wanted to do, was to have a single frame to witch 2 different loop animations start and end. Like having an idle animation, and then adding different emotes that can be played at any time.

Anywho, it’s just a basic speed sketching style. Already takes plenty enough time like that haha, I’m not an animator. It’d otherwise turn into weeks rather than hours of work. I’ll stick to this sketchy style if I do animate some more stuff later on for fun.

‘T was also all animated in Photoshop. Works good enough for this, even though not the most efficient. compared to more animation dedicated programs. But the more “traditional”frame by frame approach doesn’t rely as much on the tools used, compared to puppetry.”
