Day 1 - “It’s such a shame that Spikey-Wikey had to go to Canterlot with Twilight. And right when I ran out of sapphires, too! Still, I suppose it’s not as if I haven’t dug alone before. And – oh. What’s this? A choker of some kind? No, wait, a collar. A very fashionable collar. Hm. Perhaps I’ll hold onto this for awhile.”
 
Day 2 - “AwOOOOH! This shovel is positively useless! Either the ground is much harder than usual, or… I must be out of practice, that’s all. Let’s try this again. Grrrrrr.”
 
Day 3 - “Pant, pant Oh, this is dreadful! Pant, pant I can hardly lift the shovel at all! I can’t imagine how I wore out so quickly. I can hardly bear to return home with such a meager collection. Unless… no, not with my hooves, surely! On the other hand, they’re so cracked already. A little mud is scarcely going to do any more harm.”
 
Day 4 - “Good heavens! I had no idea digging could be such fun! I do believe I’ve covered more ground today than I have all week! This is simply marvelous!”
 
Day 5 - “Hm… well, it’s certainly a ruby, but that flaw in the center makes it simply unusable for my designs. Perhaps I could bake it into a cake for Spike when he comes back. I hope he’ll be generous enough to share it with me.”
