For a little context, Connie and Freddie adopted Lyra from Cinch’s orphanarium when the little green filly was six, and they raised her in Ponyville. At fourteen, BonBon ditched Manehattan life with Mutter and moved in with her more copacetic aunt and uncle Cake. Lyra met the pretty young Manehattanite at Thatchroof Prep, and that was it for her heartstrings. Toots was born via godmother Twilight’s egg-splicing spell (maybe these family trees need a branch for godparents?…)
 
Now let’s have some education: in JG, family theme naming (such as with the Pies and Silvers) is not obligatory. Lyra’s name is Lyra Heartstrings, not Lyra Horseshoepin-Heartstrings or something like that. Meanwhile, if you might be wondering, yes, Concerto is related (if not immediately) to Filthy Rich. Connie is more of a physical tank than his wealthy contemporary; the big horse’s parents had hoped he would go pro with hoofball, but he jut could not put down that violin.
