Description

Twilight trotted down the unusually quiet streets of Ponyville. It was a pleasant morning; Twilight was almost sad that hardly anypony else would be up to see it. Yesterday’s big party had ran late into the night, which was precisely Pinkie Pie’s plan. Either you go big or go home when the entire town was invited. Despite protests from her friends, Twilight had left early in favor of some studying. The past week had been incredibly scattered and she was very behind her study schedule. Anxiety had made getting a decent rest difficult last night, and she had ended up giving up and getting ready for the day before Celestia had raised the sun. This way, she could get shopping out of the way quickly without the normal hustle and bustle of the marketplace. As she made her way down a familiar street, she mentally went over the list of things she needed to buy: more ink, a few gems for Spike (he needed a good reward for working hard decorating the other day), scroll paper-
Her train of thought screeched to a halt when a basket-ball sized object suddenly dropped in front of her. The purple princess let out a shriek and jumped back, and despite squeezing her eyes shut, she readied her horn in case anything would try to attack her. After a few tense moments, she opened her eyes and quickly scanned the area and the light blue sky above. There was nothing out of the ordinary. Then she turned her attention to the ground in front of her. Oddly enough, there was a basket. Twilight blinked a few times in shock. Was she really that tired? That thing just didn’t appear there with no warning, did it? It was a weaved one with a honey color, and looked very homey; the kind you would see at a picnic. Twilight narrowed her eyes in confusion and suspicion when she realized the basket had no plans of being a sleep-deprived induced hallucination.
Twilight used her magic to hesitantly open it, and flinched when an eruption of confetti spilled out. None of it got on her, thank Celestia, but it would be quite a mess for somepony else to clean up. Not to be deterred by simple confetti, Twilight resumed her original plan and slowly levitated the basket’s content out. There was a spot of blue, then another, and a beautiful bouquet of flowers came into view. It was all tied together with a red ribbon that was spotted with yellow and light green. Twilight gasped, her eyes widening and her insides tightening in anxiety. She knew exactly what these horrible flowers were: Poison Joke. If it hadn’t been for a twinkle that caught her eye, she would have thrown them as far away from her as she could.
A card was attached to the bouquet that sparkled in the morning sunlight. It had a lime colored tinge to it that matched some of the polka dots on the ribbon, but seemed to display other colors if you weren’t looking directly at it. Written in surprsingly neat cursive letters were the words “Don’t worry.” Twilight turned the card over with her magic: “It’s harmless.” As soon as she read this, the basket and the rest of the confetti disappeared with a flash. She could have sworn that she heard that distinctive giggle in the breeze.
The young alicorn rolled her eyes and looked around again, this time with a small smirk. She figured this meant she could keep the bouquet. It was a very odd gesture from a very odd creature, but a nice one nonetheless. She glanced back at the flowers, which she had to admit were kind of lovely now that she wasn’t concerned that they were going to do something very embarrassing to her.
Twilight sighed and turned around, staring the trek back to her home, levitating the bouquet along side her. She can’t exactly take Poison Joke around town with her, even harmless Poison Joke. This would hinder today’s schedule a bit, but… she looked at the flowers again; Twilight’s magic making them look ethereal. It wasn’t a big deal. While she was home, perhaps she should try taking a short nap before attempting to brave the streets again as well.

A Twilight and some writing dribble :aww: This wasn’t meant to be as elaborate as it became, but oh well. My gallery needed some more Book Horse.
I need to work on pony anatomy more too… I always end up making their heads too small x_x
EDIT: whoops forgot the watermark. With the theft fiasco today I’m surprised I didn’t realize sooner, haha
