When Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy had finally settled down and decided they were ready for a child, there was a lot of stress over how they would conceive. Rainbow Dash was busy as a wonderbolt and Fluttershy was just as occupied with Sweet Feather Sanctuary. However, Rainbow would get paid maternity leave and she could have her spot easily covered by another wonderbolt or a reserve, so she stepped up and offered to carry the foal. Needless to say she regretted it immensely, especially with how needy and emotional being pregnant made her. She did love how much Fluttershy and her friends were there for her every need once she became too pregnant to serve as a wonderbolt.
The first pregnancy is always the hardest but once that tiny ball of blue fluff was born, Rainbow thought every moment of her pregnancy was worth it. She adored Featherfall and was so excited to show him the world and teach him the thrill of being a pegasus. She had so many plans for her tiny son.
Featherfall as a wee foal. He loves to talk and nap, and he always has the weirdest questions and conversation topics. He adores nature and animals like his mom, and while he does seem to be liked by most creatures, he would prefer taking photographs of them than taking care of them.
Featherfall loves his Mama Dash but she was always so intense and prefered to take life and it’s problems hard and fast. She expected him to be able to fly fast, be strong, be the best at everything. It was a little overwhelming. Fluttermum was always there to comfort and guide him, leading him through a process or helping him with his problems at his own pace. She taught him how to fly with grace and balance whereas Rainbow wanted him to fly with speed and agility. She was a stable, relaxing presence in his life and their afternoon flights were his favorite.
