Page 1365 - Mob-able Cause
16th Apr 2020, 6:00 AMAuthor: GreatDinnGuest Author’s Note: “In my experience, a DM’s levels of ominous are never entirely in their control. They can certainly crank it up, but the vast majority of that level of ominous just comes from the fact that they have more information than the players (most of the time.) After all, this is the hobby where a simple question: “Are you sure?” can bring up some massive amounts of dread.A DM just has to be careful to not get drunk on that power. Repeatedly. Basically every session. Especially if the campaign has some sort of overarching mystery, where the DM can just keep revealing stuff that keeps the players constantly on their toes.I don’t have a problem. You have a problem.”
Transcript:
Twilight Sparkle: Good thinking, Rarity! This definitely works with the unity theme we’re going for.
RT: Oh ho, please, do go on~
Twilight Sparkle: What else do we have?
PP: Hmmm…Well…I’ve got all these neat Bard powers One of ‘em has to be useful for a pep rally! But I’ll tell ya now, I am not good with limericks. Not family friendly ones anyway.
AJ: AJ’s got trainin’ in Acrobatics. Maybe her powers can be used for dancin’?
FS: I bet with her Charisma, Fluttershy has a nice singing voice.
RD: Heh. Sounds like we’re starting a flash mob.
MD: You know what? That could very well work. While you all finalize your plans for the final day, I’m going to see what sort of challenges I can whip up. I’ll be riiiiight back…
FS: Does every DM phrase things as ominously as possible?
Twilight Sparkle: I’ve been told it’s “just habit.”
