Indeed Sunset was groaning of failure into Fluttershy’s bed duvet.
Fluttershy: Uh, Sunset? Are you (sniff) okay?
Sunset: No, clearly. None of us managed to get the papers. We were all just… too big for it.
She dove back into the bed covers. Fluttershy felt a slight jump as she did so. Then, Fluttershy crawled out of bed and went to stroke Sunset’s hair.
Sunset: Fluttershy? What’re you doing? Don’t you feel sick?
Fluttershy: Well, I’m feeling (sniff) a little better, thanks to your company.
There was no reply. Sunset was still feeling down. So, Fluttershy went over to her backpack to see if there were any tissues for her sorry friend.
Fluttershy:Hmm, now where is it? (She opens her cupboard door) Ah, there you are.
She grabbed her teal backpack, opened it up and reached her hands inside. What she felt inside… made her heart sink a little. She pulled out what she had grabbed. She turned nervously to Sunset.
Fluttershy: Uhh, (ahem) Sunset? I don’t mean to make you feel even worse, but… look.
Sunset lifted her head off the bed and what she saw devastated her. There was Fluttershy, holding… her math homework papers. Sunset was at a loss for words.
Sunset:Where. Were. They?
Fluttershy: They were… in this teal backpack. I guess Twilight searched in the yellow bag. That one is Zephyr’s. He usually takes it out to his hairdo design job, which explains the pencil case. This teal one is mine and I keep it in the cupboard so is not to confuse the two. I.. guess I was too sick at the time to tell Twilight that.
There was a long silence.
Sunset: (breathe) So, do you mean to tell me that this whole mission didn’t need to happen? My friends are now stuck in God knows how many tight spaces for nothing?! I know have to call the fire brigade to free Rainbow, who is trapped deep inside the vents, BECAUSE WE LOOKED IN THE WRONG BAG?!!!
Fluttershy: Sunset, it’s not-
Before she could continue, Sunset grabbed Fluttershy’s pillow and pressed it hard against her face.
Sunset:AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!
She then fell forward onto the floor, with the pillow and her massive belly giving her a soft landing. Fluttershy was now scared over Sunset’s anger. She reached her hand down to try and comfort her, but she smacks it away crossly with her arm.
Fluttershy: But, I didn’t mean for all of this to happen to you and the others. It was an accident. A misunderstanding. … Please, Sunset.
She slowly rose from the ground a few seconds later, a little calmer.
Sunset: Yeah. I guess so.
Fluttershy: Have you.. let it all out yet?
Sunset: (sigh) I think so. Well, if you can take care of yourself for a couple of hours, I’ve got five friends to free. And… I’m glad is was able to cheer you up. It was what you needed.
End
I know that was a bullshit ending, but I couldn’t think of a better way to end it.
