I’ve had the privilege of watching Friendship is Magic since Season One, all the way back in 2010. I remember hearing about the latest incarnation of My Little Pony and hearing that grown men were watching and, out of morbid curiosity, watched the first episode. I was hooked by the first minute and figured, after the end of the episode, that I might as well find out what happens next. All the while, I had a smile on my face. We were only about halfway through the first season back then, and I recall waiting eagerly each Saturday for the newest episode to make it to YouTube. I remember watching the first season finale. Being excited that a second season was greenlit. Waking up early to watch the season premiers and seeing the movie on opening night with friends. I went to a convention for the first time earlier this year. I never would have guessed that this show about pastel-colored ponies would have such an impact on my life. I probably wouldn’t have bothered to make more friends of my own were it not for this show. Now that it’s over, I’m going to be making more art for it. I hope many of you will join me. Someone has to keep this train rolling, after all. Until next time.
