Description

One frame at the end of the song “Art of the Dress” caught my attention more than anything. Rarity’s collapse. Her expression in a single frame summed up what I had to draw.

Overlooked. Creatively questioned. Rejected. Ignored. Debilitating insecurity. Personal exile.

The experience of an artist is accurately depicted in“Suited for Success” and the process is reflected with a scary amount of accuracy in the song, “Art of the Dress”.. I recommend this episode for anyone. For the first time I was able to put myself in Rarity’s perspective. While Rarity is certainly more generous than I could ever be, and had an overly dramatic way of handling her rejection by Hoity Toity, the range of emotions she went thru were no different than any other artist applying their craft and dealing with.. well.. utter failure. Believe me, I speak from experience. With one of the best songs so far in the series (in my opinion), this episode spoke to me in a way that had me reflecting on myself as an artist and a person, highlighting my own drama in failing from time to time..

To sum what’s most important for this episode, thank you, full for helping me out of my continual slumps in art, and always being there for me. Thank you family, friends and fans. Even though I’m bottom of the barrel, you all have the patience to put up with my ever swaying emotions of being the spoiled, emotional artist that I am. I’ll keep on trying.
