Have some obscure G3 ponies that maybe should be character tags?fly wishes
apple flitter
feeling flitter

“dewdrop dazzle” is a character too.
“apple strudely” is a character too.

There is this inconsistency:
“colt” implies “male”
but
“filly” implies “female” and “foal”
“colt” implies “male”
but
“filly” implies “female” and “foal”
Also, “baby pony” does not imply “foal”.
“colt” should have description “Young male pony”.
“foal” needs some description as well. It isn’t clear what it is supposed to mean in context of this site.

I’m a new user to this site. I recently applied for an artist tag because there are many uncredited examples of my work posted here. My tag was approved and then de-verified by the admin. I would like my tag reinstated and the correct attribution given to my works. I can provide proof of authorship and links to the original sources in some cases. At least one of the images is over a decade old. I still have its psd file I used to make it if anyone doubts me.

It would be helpful to mention the name(s) you’ve previously published your work under, unless it’s all anonymously uploaded, which would make it rather difficult to find and tag them all.

I didn’t post any of it myself. It seems like a lot of people over the years have stumbled across things I made on 4chan and uploaded them. I have original images with metadata that will show the creation date of these pics predates the upload date. In some cases I also have the raw photoshop layer file, or psd used in creation of the images. I could not be in possession of such things if I was not the original author of the works. A quick search of just Twilight found 10 of my originals plus derivative works made by others using these pics as sources. I’m curious what the threshold of having my images posted on this site is to qualify me as an artist. As stated I was already attributed a tag, and it was unceremoniously yanked before it could be applied to any of my work. I think it’s unfair that someone who slapped text over something I myself created gets attribution and I just get to be “artist unknown.” Thank you for the quick response.

I meant in a more general sense of any moniker you might have used on other sites, and might therefore exist as a tag already, but obviously that wouldn’t apply in this case:
on 4chan
And therein lies the problem.
The forced anonymity of 4chan makes it difficult at best for third parties to identify artists who exclusively post there, and thus difficult or downright impossible to tag properly.

As a normal user, the threshold seems to be being able to identify your work.

The tag is still there, it’s “only” been de-linked from your profile.
before it could be applied to any of my work.
All tagging (except aliases and implications) is manual. And anyone and everyone can add or remove tags as appropriate (except for images that have had their tags locked because of tagging wars or repeated tag vandalism.)
Thing is, no-one’s clairvoyant so, given the circumstances, you’re probably the only person who knows which images are yours, making you the only one who can tag those older works of yours as yours.

In image like this, where is only somepony’s cutie mark in decorations, but that pony is not present.
Should that be tagged with the character or with “implied” the character?

So my question is, if I were to start tagging my work, what is the threshold for you to consider me a “real” artist and give me back my tag link? I assume it’s a scenario where the goalposts will keep getting moved and nothing I’ve made will somehow count.

That’s easy. I started a pony today, 100% drawn by hand. I’ll upload it when it’s done, and I hope that will end the national debate over whether or not I can draw a cartoon horse.

As promised, one original work by me has been drawn and uploaded.
It might not be perfect, but certainly the turnaround time on creation, detail level and image quality of the product are enough to qualify me as one of the pony artists of all time. Can I get my tag link back please?
Deserter
Derpibooru has fucking done it again, and replaced “lily pad (equestria girls)” with “lily pad (g4)”, which messes with the tags here.
Might be worth keeping track of all EQG related tags in case they’ve done it with something else.

Done, though if you could link those next time that’d be real helpful.

Fixed the implications, added a more helpful description to the tags.

They’re underused, but there are tags for individual characters’ cutie marks. Applejack’s, for example.

That’s the name of an old pony musician. I’m going to guess you found something related to their works.

Should be fine. Due to the way these things work you’ll have to put in a new request for an artist link, though.

For the G1 flutter ponies and sea ponies, should those characters be tagged as “pony” or not?

It’s an uncommon trope in “g1 to g4” art. Does the tag I just created make sense to have?
