If you refuse to use anything furfags have touched, much less actually good ideas they somehow had, you might as well immediately wink out of existence, as it’s literally every single thing humanity has made in the last forty thousand years.

Basically, the leg tags are useful right now (changing them will reduce functionality, not improve it), and will be until per-character tagging becomes possible - which may be never.

It’s not using things furfags have touched, it’s simultaneous oversimplification and casting aside the assumptions for images on a my little pony booru that have been present for eight years.
 
Say an image includes “female, anthro, griffon, pony, colt”. Merging mare, colt, etc into sex and age tags means this image would be caught in both “female && pony” and “young && pony” searches. Excluding every other species tag is a pain in the ass. Furthermore, quadruped doesn’t exist because it’s the expected, show-accurate form for a pony, whereas big tiddy biped isn’t expected for hardly any species. For the sake of consistency pony and anthro being mutually exclusive is a bit weird though. No other species tag follows this rule. Adding quadruped also adds derpi’s retarded bodytype category in a roundabout way, removing the distinction of anthro being an entirely separate species from normal ponies, griffons, bugs, or whatever.
 
Above all, if it makes searching/watching for the same image across alts a pain in the ass, I am less inclined to use the site. If it makes uploading to the alts a pain in the ass, I am much less inclined to use the site.

So, which one is it? Is it weird that anthro is considered its own species separate from ponies, or is it retarded to consider anthro ponies a different shape of the same species?

Quadruped already exists because of derpi getting their panties in a tizzy about using “pony” on zebras and kirin, actually.  

Because “pony”, as of now, is not a species tag, it’s a bodyplan tag of “show-canon pony body including all features”. Earth pony, unicorn, pegasus, bat pony and crystal pony (and the non-canon ones like moth pony, etc) are the actual “species” tags for ponies.  

…because anthro isn’t separate species. Anthro is given species with added human characteristics a.k.a. body shape. An anthro earth pony isn’t the same thing as anthro kirin or anthro griffon, the only unifying factor is having humanlike body, and that’s why it’s a bodyplan tag, not species tag - and why those pictures are going to be tagged “anthro, earth pony”, “anthro, kirin” and “anthro, griffon” respectively, not just “anthro” or just “[species]”.

Oh for the love of–  
There’s a reasonably medium breasts tag, that makes 3 tags with basically identical use…
 
Speaking of which:  
reasonably medium breasts, reasonably sized breasts and medium breasts should be merged.  
The “medium” one would probably be best.

I would actually argue they should be merged into reasonably sized breasts, to keep things in line with reasonably sized genitals. We’ll have a discussion regardless.

Golden eyes and yellow eyes should probably be merged and aliased.

I’m not sure we need a tag for it, but “age lines” comes to mind for me so I’ll throw that out as a suggestion and see what everyone else thinks of it.
