The [Dungeons and Dragons](https://archive.ph/xz5BQ) movie had a decent opening weekend. It came in at the higher end of its lowered estimates after the writers tanked their prospects. From what people are saying, the movie doesn't appear to be bad, especially not in the way they suggested, and they really shouldn't have said what they said.
The [Mario](https://archive.ph/ZsZjj) movie's projections are exploding. They're so high that Universal is trying to manage them back down. The last thing they want is for journos to set the bar on the moon, and then start asking if the movie's failing because it's only the biggest movie of *this* year.
The Mario movie is being attacked on [Rotten Tomatoes](https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_super_mario_bros_movie). I'm actually not surprised to see this, and was kind of hoping to, in fact. The early reactions were glowing, and the YouTubers who have seen it have been loving it. That the mainstream critics are trying to bury it is a good sign.
