The reason the fist 'Bronies' that existed outside of /b/ troll threads drew a definate line in the sand, ironically, was to distance themselves from the at the time fight between gayfur and nazifur. They hated the constant squabbling and thought ponies should be a space where everyone could co-exist without getting into non-pony related slap fights.
