Just an easily searched instance of the kind of discourse going on at that time. That was fairly late in the transition from "thing only Nazis we hate are worried about" to "we can use this to assume total control".


 
One article I can't find now that I wish I had saved was something from the Mary Sue (I think) about how you're irrational if you think Coronavirus is dangerous, that it plays to all human shortcomings in risk assessment, and you're probably a Nazi or germophobe (like Trump) if you are worried. Now 2 years later, I agree, but that's with 2 years and a totalitarian state worth of hindsight. Maybe it was erased - it wouldn't be the first time the media memory holed their own commentary.
