Description

This is the second of the four ponies in stained glass I made for Fiesta Equestria. I almost did not make her for the festival since I’d made this pattern before and wanted to do three new ponies- Luna, Twilight and Pinkie Pie. When I went into work and told my boss I was planning on making stained glass My Little Ponies he started laughing at the idea. Once he stopped laughing he said “I want one!” So I made this one for his child and Dash came to the convention as a “show piece” (much to the disappointment of several con-goers).

She took 10 hours to make and utilized opalescent glass, cathedral/antique glass, and opalescent iridized glass for the clouds. If you look carefully you can see the metallic rainbow effect in the clouds from the iridized glass. She’s made with the Tiffany (aka “copper foil”) method of stained glass.

The glass in this piece is machine made. Just because it’s machine made and not traditional mouth blown, like on Luna, that doesn’t mean it’s easy to make! www.youtube.com/embed/tDyeiePo…
I love watching that molten glass get flipped and manipulated!

This piece may be sold but I still have Twilight Sparkle for sale here. I also take commissions!

Be sure to check out my other work, and if you’re interested, clockways and I have combined talents to make My Little Pony cutie mark necklaces & keychains! We still have some left over from Fiesta Equestria and are selling them here: clockways.tumblr.com/post/5522… We also do custom cutie mark necklaces/keychains, so if you have a cutiemark or would like to have one designed for you, let us know.
