I’ve been planning this picture for literal years!!
So. Here is my headcannon for Flash and Scootaloo’s family!
Flash is the older brother to triplets, Scootaloo, First Base and Tender Taps. Sentinel Shied and Blossoming Peony are their parents!
Their father is a royal guard and their mother is a florist.

Flash’s parents met on a simple blind date.. sort of.

Sentinel Shield had been on many a date, never finding anypony he really wanted to spend his life with. He met with a mare, beautiful, but as the evening went on, it was clear she was only looking for a simple hookup. While he was no stranger to finding his way into a woman’s bed, as he was growing older, he knew he was looking for a life partner. Shield politely declined the mare’s offer and as they were leaving, he noticed a mare sat on a table for two alone, with her head down, mane covering her face. He was curious but took his date to find her taxi, giving her a good luck kiss on the hoof. Once she was out of sight, he turned to look through the restaurant window to see the mare was still alone. Rather than going home, he decided to go back inside.
“Um, excuse me miss?” Sentinel Shield asked gently, trying not to scare her as it was clear she hadn’t seen him approach.
She looked up at him, eyes big and watery, when she didn’t respond he continued “It’s just, I saw you sitting alone for a while and was wondering if you were okay?”
She sniffed and wiped her eyes with her hooves “Just being stood up by some stallion, so pretty good” She answered, forcing a laugh so she wouldn’t cry.
“Ah. I see.” He gestured toward the chair opposite and sat down, “I get the feeling he missed out on somepony wonderful” He smiled, looking into her eyes.
“Well, I wouldn’t say that” She smiled, brushing her hair out of her face, “I think it may have been a good call on his end, maybe I’m just not ready to date again”
“You’re more than ready, he’s the fool for not coming. such a beautiful mare shouldn’t be with such a stallion that couldn’t even show up to a date.” He put his hoof on hers, “Have you eaten yet?”
She shook her head “I was waiting for him but…”
“Well I don’t see why you should miss out on dinner because of him.” He passed her a menu “Anything you want. My treat.”
Shocked by the strangers kindness, she took the menu and blushed. She introduced herself as Blossoming Peony and it was love at first sight.
The two ordered their food, talking well into the evening, even after they finished their food, until they were kicked out by the owners. They exchanged numbers and the rest is history!

It took years after they met until they finally got pregnant with their first son, Flash. They moved into a house, got married, and prepared to settle down with their new family.
Flash was born happy and healthy, a beautiful little Pegasus. Their lives were picture perfect, they both took time off their jobs to take care of their new baby together. When Flash was old enough to get into preschool, Sentinel returned to work full time, sometimes not coming home for long periods of time. Flash turned out to be a huge daddy’s boy and looked up to him and everything he did, he wanted to become a guard just like his dad when he grew up and his mind could not be changed.
When Flash was around 8 years old, his parents were pregnant once more and he was so excited to be a big brother! He’d been an only child his whole life and watching his friends with their siblings always made him jealous he didn’t have that sort of relationship, and by the time he was this age, he thought he’d never get one! Months later he was surprised with not one, not two, but THREE little siblings! Two brothers and a sister! Peony had been expecting twins for the entire pregnancy, however there must have been a mistake, they were triplets! An extra sibling for Flash! He helped out all that he could while they were babies, wanting to be involved with everything in their development.

As they grew he finally got into junior guard training (idk, Shining Armour went somewhere similar lol), I like to think that in the pic, he’s earned some sort of achievement in his schooling. He had a great relationship with his siblings and they bonded by playing sports. Scoots and First Base were both very sporty and LOVED playing baseball and getting muddy while doing it. Tender Taps was a little different however. He was a lot more shy than his siblings, he wanted to dance but he was worried he wouldn’t be taken seriously, he also hated dancing in front of anyone, he liked staying in his room alone, which sort of excluded himself from his family. His siblings tried to involve him and they all really do love each other, but Tender just is a little more introverted than them.

However the story does not stay sweet forever. When the triplets were around 7 years old, there was an accident in the guard. Sentinel was killed in action…
The whole dynamic shifted and everything changed. Flash was in training and was away quite often, but returned to be with his family during such a difficult time. Peony took the news HARD. She started spending more time in her room, finding such a difficulty in completing the most basic tasks, she sunk into a deep depression. Peony’s depression meant that she found it difficult to provide for her kids and barely spent time with them. Flash had to stand up to become a parental figure to his young siblings, giving them food, taking them out of the house, taking them to school etc. The triplets were very confused as to why their father wasn’t coming back, coming to terms with his death was very difficult at such a young age, they needed distractions to keep them happy, being cooped up inside only made things worse. But things couldn’t stay this way forever. Peony no longer working meant there was no income, so Flash took up jobs to provide some sort of financial stability, though a lot of the community provided for them, it wasn’t enough. Flash being away and Peony not being capable to parent meant that the triplets were looked after by their aunts Holiday and Lofty, full time custody. Peony continued to live in their house alone. She still visits her children but she never was the same after Shield passed away. They go to visit Flash in Canterlot whenever they can which is usually when Flash has his holidays. Flash eventually becomes a full guard, eventually being moved to Twilight Sparkle’s personal guard and, well, now they’re married lol.
Scootaloo wanted to be a lot of things before she grew up most being sporty, a guard because of Flash and her father, a baseball player like First Base, an athlete, but most of all, wonderbolt due to her idolising Dash, however later on she discovered her wings were underdeveloped and flying would never be a possibility. She had the CMC to help her come to terms with this and during their friendship, she and AppleBloom grew a lot closer, spending more time together when Sweetie Belle had singing classes. The two ended up married with 3 kids and she now works on the farm with her wife and her huge family. She’s very happy she now has so many more loving family members.

First Base became, well, as his name implies, a baseball player! He is one of Canterlot’s top players. He met his future husband, Chip Cutter, at one of the team events. They are married and have a daughter together.

Tender Taps became closer to his siblings after his father’s death and after Apple Bloom’s help, he gained more confidence, even joining his sibling’s sport games. He becomes a dancer in the future, and after a short lived relationship with one of his dance partners, he finds a young fitness coach, Rumble whom he has a lot in common with. Rumble eventually figures out his sexuality (which takes a while) they marry and have two sons.

The four siblings still adore each other and now have families of their own that they make sure to visit often. None of them feel any resentment towards their mother, sure she was VERY absent and she never got over her husband’s death, but they love her nonetheless. They aren’t as close with her as they may have been and Flash may have had a few arguments about her responsibilities as a parent, but they know she tries.

Snap shutter and Mane Allgood DON’T exist here. I hate them and I had these planned before they were introduced, so that’s just not canon here.

I’ve been so excited for this and also, I wrote this super late so the writing isn’t perfect lol but I hope I got the point across.
Aunt Holiday is Peony’s sister, and Lofty is her wife.
