It’s not often that I do this, but I saw this character and felt compelled to have a crack at depicting her in my style. Obviously, this is not my character, and instead belongs to Winter the Dolphin, who you can find here: winter-the-dolphin
Winter, I hope that you like this little gift I made for you! You’ve become a dear friend, and are a generally amazing person- this was the least I could do for you.
Now back to our regularly scheduled programme!
This was actually a lot more difficult to do than I was expecting, because I’m not the best when it comes to doing colour gradients with Ibis Paint X, but I feel that I learned something during this process, and that they should be a little easier for me in future.
I did take a little creative liberty with this one regarding the mane and tail, as I just couldn’t get them to look right with how straight Lia’s mane is. This is the same principle as with the bands of blue and magenta in her mane and tail as well- my own limited artistic talents couldn’t get them to look good with how narrow they were, so I plumped for wider bands.
I colour matched as best I could for her tiara and shoes, and I feel that I got them looking decent, and relatively close to what they should be. As for her wings, I was having a ton of trouble with my insolent hands by that point, so I went for a solid colour rather than another gradient.
As per usual, I completed the edit with Ibis Paint X on my Android mobile phone with no stylus, and finished the edit within 2 hours and 50 minutes.
