“Don’t worry, Ash, your wing will heal just fine! I’ll get this sling on you and you can get out of here!”
The brown wyvern looked down at his right wing, which was firmly encased in a plaster cast. Turning to his left, he saw the x-ray on the wall, displaying two broken bones in his wrist. He winced looking at it; his wing still hurt pretty badly. Ash couldn’t help but think that only a couple of hours ago he was soaring carefree through the sky. Now he wished he hadn’t taken the gift of flight for granted.
Ash sighed and cradled his twinging wing. “I wish I’d been more careful. If I was looking where I was going, I would’ve seen that pegasus coming…”
The doctor offered comforting words as he knotted Ash’s sling. “It’s okay, Ash, these things happen. It’s no use beating yourself up over it. Just focus on getting better. With lots of rest and keeping this sling on, you’ll be right as rain in no time!”
Ash gave a tiny smile. “Don’t worry, doctor. I won’t let this get the better of me.”
