You may think that this copious volume of calorific sweets is a dessert buffet for an entire royal banquet but you would be mistaken. It is all for the nourishment of a single voracious pony; she will finish off every crumb before beginning her busy morning, and the castle’s kitchen staff are already hard at work preparing an even bigger batch for her second and third breakfasts, once the royal metabolism has had time to fully kick into gear for the day.

Fulfilling the nutritional needs of a fully mature alicorn like this one requires a round-the-clock industrial-scale effort by an entire team of unseen heroes in the castle kitchens. It will all disappear into her without a trace, as everything consumed by an alicorn always does, which will leave the newer chefs especially wondering if their paltry contribution to the royal diet was enough to keep Equestria safe another day. The sage advice from the senior chefs is that it never hurts to prepare seconds of everything - the extra effort has never gone to waste. Ever.
