I present to you: Barrel Roll and Hawkeye Apple! A pair of jocks perhaps a little too conceited, but with good hearts nonetheless.

The AppleDash household is a competitive one, and family game nights were pretty common. If Rainbow or AJ wanted something done, they just needed to make a competition out of it: who can finish their chores faster, who can buck more apples, who can get to school first.

The twins like to challenge one another, but they are also super close and take care of each other’s back. They were taught about fair competition and are very aware of where the limits of the games are, so they never take it personally and have a very strong bond as a result.

Barrel Roll is loud and impulsive and will get his hooves dirty with no second thoughts. He is a fan of informal sports such as horseshoe pitching, cloud bursting and barrel racing, and he will immediately try to solve any conflict with a round of hoof wrestling.
He comes out as a bit of a prick sometimes, and he has quite a dense sense of humor, but in reality he only has good intentions and he really likes to make friends.
He’s also Rainbow’s absolute mama’s boy. Not that she has a favorite, of course, but Rolly’s always been more physical when it comes to affection, and being a pegasus, of course Rainbow would take him to Cloudsdale more often and share more flying activities in general.

Hawkeye, on the other side, is more of an overconfident too-good-for-you kind of brat, a master of witty comebacks and flirty smiles.
Unlike his brother, he only talks when he has something to say, and he is a bit more provocative and stinging, good at getting on your nerves and making you lose your cool. He is also more modest and discreet, and although friendly, he picks his social circle very carefully.
Hawk does quality control at the farm and keeps track of the math, just like Granny Smith used to back in the day. Despite this he still enjoys helping in apple bucking season, and being quite an avid kicker, every once in a while Rainbow gets him a cloud walking spell so he can help her clear out the sky.

Extra:
After the twins were born, Rainbow Dash was worried that changing diapers and singing lullabies was going to make her look terribly uncool in front of her fans. However, after looking deeper into her friends’ experiences with motherhood, and especially her wife’s, she soon realized that it was nowhere near as corny as she thought, and to this day she proudly assumes her role as the coolest mom in Ponyville!
