Seaweed is a 46 year old male Hippogriff who originated from Mount Aris itself, before escaping the Storm King’s assault on his home- eventually making the long and arduous flight to Equestria, where he recovered from his wounds and began rebuilding his life from the ground up.
It should be mentioned here that he does not possess the amulet that allows him to shape-shift into the hippogriffs aquatic form, as this was lost in his wounding and subsequent hasty escape from Mount Aris. Neither does he care about returning home, as he’s content with the life he has carved out for himself.
Physically, he is notably tall for a member of his species, being almost able to look at Princess Celestia at eye level, and is strong with extreme endurance. He is also in good health, and has no known medical issues at this time.
However, he has extensive scarring across his body the largest being on his right side. Most of these scars have been hidden by his coat, though there is a notable one on the right of his barrel that is visible through his coat.
Where he was once a seneschal of Queen Novo, he is now a well respected senior butler who serves Lady Nightshade of Sire’s Hollow directly. Intelligent, well spoken, and protective, he is utterly devoted to attending to his Lady’s needs- and has, through his competence and discretion become an indispensable member of Nightshade’s household. Known locally to be an observant, discerning, and very perceptive judge of character, he has no time for those that would do his Lady ill.
He will fight if it is necessary, and is well armed with a naturally iron-hard beak and equally nasty set of talons. However, he dislikes violence, and would rather talk down an opponent than actually fight.
Normally seen as aloof, reserved and quiet, he is a hardened drinker, and does like a good drink outside of work, tending to prefer ales and stout. Seaweed tends to drink alongside his few close friends, though occasionally will have a bottle of beer alone in his quarters when off-duty. It is noted that he is referred to as “Weedie” by Lady Nightshade. He pays it no mind, as as far as he is concerned, Lady Nightshade can call him anything she wants.
He is often seen striding regally, and with purpose around the corridors of Lady Nightshade’s mansion while her Palace is being constructed. Once the Palace has been built, he will be overseeing the hiring of new staff, and moving everything necessary to the palace. He has an almost rolling gait while walking, and has a nickname amongst the other servants and maids- “the Galleon.”
Seaweed is a somewhat slow flier, but as he tends to fly at higher altitudes where he can join the trade-winds, that tends to make up for his lack of speed over long distances. His manoeuvrability is decidedly average at best, but this is something that has never truly mattered to him.
Additionally, Seaweed sounds a lot older than he actually is, and sounds like he smokes a LOT more than he actually does. Regardless, his accent would be best described as a refined British one closer to what was known as “The Queen’s English.”
He has a deep love of literature, and especially likes crime thrillers and mystery novels when it comes to books, but his favourite form of literature is poetry. Having been gifted a book of Seamus Heaney’s collected works by his Lady’s partner, Cain, he was introduced to human poetry, something he was curious about, and ever so grateful for.
When it comes to more personal matters, Seaweed is asexual and aromatic, caring not for any relationships beyond friendship.
