Carrot Twitch is a 32 year old earth pony farmer, who owns and operates a huge and very productive arable farm in the plains of the deep south of Equestria near Oataca. She is a very prideful mare who has built up the operation from nothing, almost alone for much of its existence.

The farm covers a huge area of the plains, employing hundreds of workers and producing vast quantities of fruit, vegetables, and also is a major producer of some of the very finest carrots to be found anywhere within Equestria. Fields, greenhouses, orchards and gardens stretch off for miles in all directions from the old, large, and beautifully maintained farmhouse that serves as Carrot Twitch’s headquarters.

As the largest single employer in the area, and as much as the locals have some choice words about her temperament in private, they tend to let it slide for the sake of not setting this volatile mare off.

Carrot is loud, brash, bellicose, and has a tendency to brag to those who will listen to her. Those who will not, she has no time for. She has gotten into brawls for many different reasons, and as a result, many of the locals treat her as a ticking time bomb.

Physically, Carrot is in phenomenal condition. She is of around average size for an earth pony mare, and is very strong and tough. Her connection to the land is strong, and on average her crops seem to grow about 10% faster than other local equivalent farms and smallholdings.

However, a lot of this is a front. She was not always this way, and secretly, she is a very sensitive, insecure mare, and very lonely.

Once, Carrot was a happy, joyous mare- a ray of sunshine in the darkness. She would once be commonly found playing, singing and dancing while working. She was considered helpful, conscientious, and in the opinions of her remaining friends, they loved her like family.

It should be noted that Carrot is very well educated, and very intelligent. She can be very witty and verbose for a farmer. But as she would say, “You can’t run an operation the size of this one if you have nothing between your ears.” She is a phenomenal singer, with an extensive vocal range, but with how upset she is on a day to day basis, nopony has heard her sing for a decade.

Sadly, her husband disappeared a few months into the start of their marriage 10 years ago, and has never been seen since. The hideous mix of anger, confusion, frustration and loneliness and ungodly amounts of stress that built up from those most awful of days has driven her into a simmering rage that seems to burn just below the surface, always threatening to erupt like a volcano.

She has accepted that she will likely never see her now ex-husband again, and their marriage has been annulled accordingly. She is heterosexual and would love to have foals of her own, but again, her anger burns almost everything she touches, and she is scared of getting into another relationship in case it all falls apart like so much ash, all over again.

She has few real friends left at this point, as she has gradually alienated almost everypony that she was once close with, now only having professional acquaintances. Carrot was a strong and generally upstanding mare, who has been driven to the very edge of insanity by loss and heartache.

She is trying hard to be a better mare, and to not get into physical altercations, but she is not adverse to verbally destroying opponents instead. It should be noted that her personality is very different when children are involved. She becomes caring, kind and sweet, and treats all children as if they were her own. She is not overbearing with this manner, however.

Secretly, away from the eyes of everypony, she wishes for somepony to save her, as she feels so helpless and doesn’t know how to get herself out of her situation. To reiterate, Carrot is heterosexual and couldn’t care less if a potential suitor was a pony or not.

She is known to value honesty, fidelity, and a solid work ethic in a partner. A sense of humour is also a plus

Deep down, below all the heartache, anger and boiling fury- Carrot just wants to feel the endless bliss of true love once more.
