Hey everyone,

Here’s a controversial statement- I used to really dislike Rainbow Dash.

Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t for something so shallow as her appearance- that was not my problem with her at all. No, my issue was the way her personality was pushed to such extremes. I absolutely despised her constant bragging and self-aggrandisement- two traits that I do dislike IRL and find incredibly annoying.

I couldn’t say that I ever hated her as such, as she had an important role to play within the show and could understand why she was the way she was- but I did not look upon her favourably.

Now, all these years later, I can honestly say that I do like her. Maybe not to the degree of the other members of the mane 6, but I like her now, regardless.

She acts as the aggressive “foil” to the more passive members of the mane 6, and while not quite as smart as her friends, she is most certainly not dumb- and her abilities can be incredibly useful to her friends.

When I took the time to realise that she actually could back up her bragging with very real, tangible results, that’s when I began to understand what Dashie was truly about.

As for a headcanon about BlueFast- it’s simply that she is a classic case of a tsundere character. I haven’t got any proof for that, it’s just what my mind attaches to her.
