Recently I tried out a new form of fanart. The above wooden Wonderbolt badge was done by putting heat active foil on the wooden badge and trace the badge insignia with a kind of heater pen. The metallic colors of the foil are thereby transferred to the wood (paper and leather can also be used and are probably a better choice of material for this kind of work) allowing for some effects such as rainbowish iridescence of the wings and a metalic shimmer of all the colors.  
I may experiment a little more with it now that I got a few free days to do so.
