Suddenly decided I wanted to draw older Ocellus and that included older Spike as they’re married in my universe!

I’ve seen many versions of older Ocellus and decided to combine the aspects of Chrysalis (being a single-horned queen changeling) and Thorax (an elevated drone, who only formed in that way because he took charge in absence of a queen). Ocellus here is actually a true queen changeling and broodmother, specifically hatched from a special egg. Like all changelings, she is very sparkly, though her dorsal cuticle will grow longer than average. Not only that but she developed the quadruple-pronged horn, which is rare to see, and the signature glassy belly which is almost see-through. She has very strong magic and is slightly larger than Cadence.

Spike is a specific type of dragon, a magic dragon, which are extremely rare. He is almost the last one known in Equestria, saved by Celestia from extinction. He was hatched by magic and thus requires strong magic around him; he would have never thrived living full time in the dragon lands. Once he met Ocellus, he was taken aback by how unique she was… this eventually, in their late teens, turned to mutual attraction. Her strong magic technically feeds him, though he does love sweets and gems as well.

Poor Spike lost his cool around her so many times! He was never a huge stutterer… what happened, big guy?

Changelings and Dragons are known for their clutches, which are multiple eggs in each pregnancy. This is basically enhanced for Ocellus because she is technically a broodmother, too. So both of them were very surprised to find that their union only created a single egg! Very unusual. Ocellus was worried at first that it was a dud egg, but Spike insisted they attempt to hatch it with lava, magic, and love… and eventually Fae was born! Spike was grateful for the single egg because even though Fae was a very quiet and calm baby, being first time parents was tough. Maybe Fae will soon have a sibling, though!

Hope you enjoyed! I might do more sketches of them because I have some funny ideas for their dynamic and how little Fae looked as a grub lol
