Finally finished this! These are all the winning designs from my pony name contest. They’re best buddies, and they all live in the same beach town.
First up we have Beachcomber, an intense but overall kindhearted lifeguard at the local beach. He’s an expert swimmer, of course, a skill he learned after almost losing his sister in a bad rip tide. Luckily both he and his sister made it out alive, and Beachcomber got his cutie mark for saving ponies in water-related peril. Though his living-like-Larry attitude can sometimes be too much for the average pony, his friends have learned to tell when it’s actually serious and when he’s just being silly. He’s pretty protective of his friends and family, and is always willing to lend a hoof if they need help. Designed by theseerllama!
Next is Center Stage, an actress and a charmer. She takes her work very seriously– maybe a bit too much– and often ends up stressed about being perfect during performances. You can often find her singing and prancing around town; on her way to the store, doing yard work outside her house, walking her dog. Center Stage pretty much sings every other thing she says and dances every other step she takes. When you first meet her it’s admittedly, annoying. When you get to know her, though, she’s too lovable to get on your nerves, and her little quirks become defining traits of a great friend. Designed by queentiifu!
Summer Storm is a weather pony that works around the beach area. While most of the weather in Equestria is pegasus-controlled, the ocean kinda does whatever it wants, including making huge storms. Armed with some hardy cloud-busting hooves and a surprisingly advanced understanding of weather-related physics, Summer’s job is to fight these storms and keep them away from the mainland. She has enough stories about her expeditions to fill a library. While she’s a thrill-seeker, Summer also has to be pretty organized and observant to do her job as well as she does. Hurricane Weathervane is half pony, half donkey, and all smiles. She’s a generally positive and upbeat pony, always doing her best to stay optimistic and encourage her friends to do the same. Unlike most optimists, though, Hurricane is very emotionally aware, and can always tell when a pony’s enthusiasm is faked. If someone’s not feeling it, she’ll drop the “cheer up and sing a song!” mentality and instead try to get to the bottom of their troubles. Her special talent is, fittingly, making sense of confusing or overwhelming emotions. If you’re feeling sad for no reason, anxious about seemingly nothing, or angry at nopony in particular, give Hurri a call. Designed by pone-dancer!
And if you’re looking for some sick beats, go to Spoken Song. She’s a tiny mare with the voice of a goddess and the mind of a poet. She grew in popularity when she sung for a local band in their normal singer’s absence, and they were impressed by how articulate she was despite the lyrics going by a mile a minute. She’s a singer at heart, and while she loves a good rap or fast-paced rant in the form of a song, she’s always had a soft spot for love songs. If you thought her voice was impressive when she was rhyming every third word, you should hear her belt out a tearful ballad to her lost love. Designed by eonionic!
Oh and her cutie mark wasn’t designed by me but I can’t find the original creator :P
Last but not least, Sunkissed Citrus! They’re a juice maker at the most popular drink shop in town, and they take their craft very seriously. They know hundreds of different juice recipes, from pear-apple-grape fusion blast to lemon-orange-pineapple citrus explosion. They’ve practically invented a new language with all the terms they use around the shop to describe the customers’ drink orders. In their time off, Sunkiss loves tending to their garden and selling fresh boquets to their neighbors. They value hard work overall, and feel most content when they’re tired out after a long day at the shop. Designed by sarahbearquartz!
