Another very legitimate question raised by the Equestria of G5. Whereas the human world in Equestria Girls was clearly set in the 2010s and thus everybody had smartphones and the like, the technology in G4 Equestria was relativity primitive. Aside from the occasional video game cabinet and modern kitchen utensils, much of the tech they had looked akin to that of the middle ages.
G5 Equestria seems to have caught up to Equestria Girls levels of tech. But considering G5 is presumably set centuries after the events of G4, it begs the question how far technology has progressed back in the human world?

I mean, they’re part of the show itself, so they are canon. Whereas eqg is just a spin-off and thus inherently non-canon until canonised
FIM S8 and S9 aren’t canon either. At least what I think so.
