Hoo, OK! Let’s see what we can do here. This picture is 2 years old already, but I never got around to post it, so here it is. Was pretty happy to draw Capper, he doesn’t get enough love. I love this guy.

“Felidae” is a very memorable movie, in that it’s impossible to remove several things about it from my mind. Music, voice acting, violence, it’s all really damn memorable but maybe not for the better. The style of animation on this movie, very sketchy and almost like there was no clean-up stage to ink the sketches reminded me of “The Aristocats” constantly. So that level of violence with that level of cuteness brought a disorienting amount of cognitive dissonance. Now, contrast is important, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to enjoy the slow moments from the intense moments, or the scary moments from the safe moments. But there’s something such as too much contrast, and in this regard this movie goes too far.

You’re most likely going to end up humming that theme song for months, though. I sure did.

I don’t know if I’d give this a recommend or not, but if you’re planning to watch it make sure it’s not with your kids. You’re going to damage them forever if you do.

Felidae is one of those childhood trauma movies that kids see too early because their parents would just rent it blindly on the logic that “cartoons are for kids”. It’s quite good on merits, though.
