Dude, it doesn’t matter if he’s a fictional character. Because he’s still a character portrayed by a real person from our own world.
 
Cathy Wesluck being the voice of Spike means that she is still Spike even in the real world. That’s how it works for voice acting. When you are given a role to play that specific character. People will recognize you as THAT specific character. For me. When I see those images of Spike with a noose around his neck. I’m basically seeing Cathy Wesluck’s character she was given the role to play about to be killed for no reason.
 
But that’s just me.
