growing up without his parents a lot, ire was left in the care of his,,, less than fully capable half-brother, seaking also known as “pipsqueak” or “pippy”. the two would be sent money from afar, postcards and pictures, and ire would be in absolute awe of how amazing his parents were. adventurers, seeking treasures and fighting monsters! it was brilliant, and he wanted to be like them one day! every letter he got would bring him even more joy, and he’d boast for years on end how he’d one day go on a trip, how his less than present parents, promised to bring him. and when they did, ire would be ready!  
 
years went by, the parents would visit ever so sparsely, still trying to be there and stay with their sons for as long as they could. but,,, well. the jungles and undiscovered lands just called a little louder. so off again they would go, and as time passed. ire began to fade in hope, slowly becoming hopeless at the idea that they’d ever bring him. the optimistic, bold, cunning little colt began to fade in fire. that was until a particular little dancer came into his life, cheesy charm. a constantly smiling, perky and snarky little thing who’d stayed with him and kicked him back up. egg him on until he’d gotten that burn back into his soul.  
 
the two were oil and water, yet they worked so well together. competing and laughing, loving and caring for each other. they were the best of friends. ever since middle school, the two would never leave each other’s side. they relied and cared, supporting and loving each other as equals.  
 
soon the time came when ire would recieve that all important letter. he was invited to go to the amarezon with his parents on a scouting mission for a research team, it was a dream come true. cheesy was so excited for him, albeit a bit sad to see him go, but this was his lifelong dream! and ire wasn’t going to let it pass,,,  
 
the trip was splendid, truly everything he’d ever wanted it to be! time with his parents, seeing the world, finding beautiful places! what could–  
 
after the first week, it was reported that the scouting team of daring do was killed in a landslide, few bodies were found. many were written as missing or unrecognizable, ire too, was reported to be dead.

• really, really loves ties. he would never admit it, but it was cheesy who got him into wearing them all the time, has a stash of dozens of them. he’s very proud of ’em  
• stronger than he looks, vaguely built but not amazingly as most of the muscle was not made by choice. his asthma keeps him from doing too many vigorous workouts  
• pierced his own ear

  smokey is a,,, laid back? fellow, with a bit of a,,,hm. well. in all honesty, he’s a little undescribable, consistently at least. he’s destructive for sure, self loathing and always making jokes about his own struggles for the sake of, what can be assumed is coping. he’s insecure, and scared at the core of everything, he does everything he can to reject those around him, just so he never gets hurt the way his dad was.  
   
  he’s always in trouble seeminly, whether it be selling illegal potions, doing drugs, stealing, property damage, smokey does it all. many aren’t quite sure why he does it, and,,, he’s not quite sure either really. he’d never say it outloud, well. maybe not on purpose at least. but he does regret it.  
   
  smokey is quick to anger, tending to find it hard to even manage. and even though he’s often quiet, he has so many thoughts going on in his head. about what others think of him mostly, how much he hates himself, how he’s done so much damage there’s no turning back. he’s given up, mostly, and continues to destroy himself in order to “repent” for his mistakes.  
   
  even if he’s a little rough around the edges, smokey is,,,kind. he cares at least. for his adopted sibs, despite quietly being envious of them. he tries his damnedest to keep them out of trouble, be the bad example to see and think “well at least i’m not smokey”. yet they always stand up for him. and he hates it. he tries so hard to keep them out of his messes, yelling, pushing them away, insulting them. still, they’re always there to defend him. and he’s never understand why.

• would never say it, but he can’t really fly. he can glide and get off the ground a little bit, but flying has always given him anxiety and has been his biggest shame as well, as he couldn’t follow many others in the sky due to his fears
