I don’t think anyone was thinking it was going to end soon at the time.

But I do agree that it would have been a lot more successful if it had been made earlier. Perhaps if they had done it at the end of Season 3 back when there was still a lot of hype for FiM instead of a silly spinoff that nobody asked for.

The fim movie released when fim was only 2 Seasons away from ending the TV series so it’s not surprising that the fim movie bombed.

If Hasbro had made the fim movie a few Seasons earlier then I’m sure it would’ve been great. They just picked a bad time to make the movie when fim was about to end soon.
