When the Equestria-Zebra war started, members of the element of harmony were appointed to be directors of ministries. Rainbow Dash’s ministry, in the public’s eye, did nothing major. However, she is in fact in charge of the infamous ‘Rainbow Factory’ - a set of machinery that could convert souls of young foals into energy in the form of photons. Photons of different energy level travel in different layers, which created the image of ‘rainbow’ in the visible light wavelength. The Rainbow Factory was set up and running for hundreds of years, and it is the deterrence it provided that granted the Equestria’s current prosperity. In an ironic turn of event - she has to keep the facility running, in order to maintain the fragile relative peace build on deterrence of mutual annhilation.  
In game, she is a support tank character who utilizes the machine as deterrent and protects her ally.
