Didn’t exactly know what to name this so…
 
Anyways, I wanted to get back into the habit of drawing Aztec and Kimara, who I haven’t drawn in quite the while. This is kind of a mini backstory around the two, hopefully I’m not spoiling their arc lol. As you know, the two are siblings, who’s parents are Lord Discord and Lady Cosmos. In the IDW comic, the two split, but in my verse, the two are still together, but in a complicated relationship. When Aztec hatched, Cosmos immediately wanted to train him to defeat the pony princesses and the three would rule Equestria, just as they should. But Discord never wanted his son to be like him; or how he used to be. Discord took Aztec to the only place he would know he’d be safe: Twilight’s Castle. The Princess and Prince of Friendship adopted him, and became his parents since then. As Aztec grew, he started to realize he wasn’t like them, and he would never be. This would take a tole on his self image, and he would hide behind his pony form, day and night.
 
Kimara was the second child of Discord and Cosmos. To tell the truth, she was nothing like them either. She didn’t really care about her mother’s plans to take over, and just simply went along with it, annoying the heck out of her. Kimara is a magical being, like her family, but she never really thought about it.
