Playing with a new AU I’ve had sitting at the back of my mind but never fully knew how to utilize it. I think I found a solution though, and grabbed some inspiration from the likes of Bioshock, Fallout, and The Last of Us for this one. :3
 
Nothing is fully concrete in this AU yet but so far the basic idea is that Twilight is something called Guardian, or a heavily-genetically altered pony that’s been grafted into an armored specialized suit, and Rarity is the high-priority experimental subject she’s been conditioned not only to protect but also to keep imprisoned. Problem is, they didn’t foresee just how loyal Twi has become toward Rarity, and the two make an escape from the so-called “Utopian” airborne city and into the unknown lands below where adventures and horrors and dangers will be had.
 
These here are very quick concept sketches I did to try to see what I could do with the suits (inspired by Bioshock). The large one is Twilight, the small one is Rainbow, and the silhouette is Rarity just to show just how big the other two are in comparison to an averaged-sized pony. More will be explored with this AU and a lot is subjected to change, but I’m excited for it! :3
